Advice to Loveworn
By Beatrice Barefacts
Dear Miss Barefacts:
I am a yotmg man just stepping out
into society. I want to be enlightened on
a few points of etiquette. When I am at
a dance shall I offer a girl a drink from
mny flask or not? If she dosent accept,
shall I insist?
Puzzled
Dear Puzzled:
Never, never coax a girl to take a
<drink. No really well-informed young
man does such a thing because all vell
in formed young men know that women
lon't have to be coaxed to take anything.
Dear Miss Harefacts:
I am a beautiful girl. I have come to
New York and the only job I could find
was posing as an artist's model. The man
who employs me is very kind but he is
continually giving ie presents. He takes
mhe out to supper and explains his
theories of art to me. He says all this is
part of art. I don't know what he means,
but I don't think he wants to marry me
--what do you mean by art, please ?
Model
Dear Model:
kvery one's theories of art differ
ent, but I think I have one that fits
your case pretty well. When a man
wants to marry a girl and gives her
presents-- thhtt's love. When a man
dosen't want to marry her but gives her
tresents anyway-- that's art--on some
oody's part.
I)ear Miss Harefacts:
I was only an innocent country girl
until a drummer persuaded me to elope
and go to the big city with him. later
I was involved in the murder of a big
hoot and howl man from Broadway and
was thrown in iail. I am still innocent
and I want to know what you would do
if you were in my fix? How can I get
out of jail?
Helen Hentle
Dear Helen:
So you have eloped, been involved in
a murder case, been put in jail and are
still innocent and want advice? Listen,
I helen, you sit still now like a good girl
and then I'll tell one.
