Of interest to the University student body is the fact that one of its mem bers has a very good chance to fight' his way to a place on the American Olympic team that will sail for Europe to defend it: trophys sometime this summer. 'The South in contrast to other sections of the country has been usually lax in getting men on this expedition composed of Uncle Sam's athletic experts. However this year it seems that the University will have a representaive on this crusade that hopes to bring to America and Carolina the Amateur Fencing Champ ionship. "'The State" of Thursday morning car ried a story on the subject and said in part: "The tournament is interesting to South Carolina because it is understood that Kahn (American champion) will attend the tournament held in Charlesto'i by the Southern Fencing Conference in the middle of April. Also because the open championship is in dispute between him and Reese of Carolina, champion of the Southern Fencing Conference. Reese was to have attended the tourna ment in New Orleans but an injury prevented. The two met in New Orleans iast fall and will probably meet in a challenge bout soon. This tournament establishes Kahn's claim to the Southern Amateur championship while Reese is the undisputed col;egiate champ." Hunts 2 Years for the Right Tobacco Dallas, Texas March 22, 1927 Larus & Bro. Co. Richmond, Va. Gentlemen: The worst thing in the world to tryl to find is a good pipe tobacco that is well within the reach of everybody, and at the same time does not taste like it had just come out of the cabbage patch. I have been smoking a pipe for two years and have just this month started to smoke a real smoke, Edgeworth. If at first you don't succeed, try, try again. Believe me, I tried for two years, but finally success is more than mine. I have just been looking around, and have found to my delight that I can get Edgeworth practically any where. I even found it out at the lake near Dallas where I go fishing. Oh boy, what a combination-a perfect day, a can of good tobacco, and your pipe. I always thought these ad letters were the bunk, but this time I know somebody is wrong and that is me.
