She is assisted by Harriet Scar
)orough as Puggy, a green freshman
co-ed, and Dee Jones of New York,
v:ho plays the part of the Sophisto
rated senior. Rene Mayers plays a
double role as Miss Irene, the dean of
%vomen and also as Big Turner the
physical director.
Opposite Xiss Savage we find Blood

trying to retain his fraternity pen
which the Pan-Hellenic girl has al
most in her clutch. Tom Craig a city
man with country ideas, completely
falls for Diana who spurns his wooing

to his quarters at the M cDow Inn,i dueW
mo his inaility to ascertain the exact
whereabuots of his nether garments. Mr.
Bradley. accompanied by Mr. Billy Brun
son, the popular younag journalist amid
man-gabout-town, had gone to the inn
to visit friends among the hostesses. Mr
Brunson left first, and returned to the
campus ini apparent good order, but
when Mr. Bradley had finished his call
lie goo ~d that in some mysterious man
mer certain portions of his clothing ha]t
vankhled. Mr. Dody McDow, who was
on the desk at the time of the accident
;mmediately summoned the local police
force. but when it arrived it was unable
to do awything except pay eloquent trib
ute to the cleverness of the crmnal in
abstrocting this garment from Mr. Brad
ley's person without disturbing him. Mr.
William Cook, house detective at the
McDow Inn, charcterizes this as onte of
the most daring and cleverlby executed
robberies of the century, and has sent
out warnings to. all the patrons to be
o their guard.
Mr. Bradey was forced to remhain in
this plight until Mr. Brimson recovered
consciousness the next morning, and was
able to take an extra pair, which he
foundl in his .room.Mr.Bradley certairly

matron of Melton Hall and typical

Carolina May queen by a margin of
two votes over Miss Doris Jackson,
pretty freshman co-ed. The vote was
exceedingly close all the way and at
one time Miss Jackson was ahead
when her supporters started giving
:iway autographed photographs but the
beautiful young Mrs. Beard could not
be denied and her coronation will be a
social triumph.
The popularity of Mrs. Beard has
increased each year she has been at
Carolina. Especially popular is she at
the gym (lances where she is the most
eagerly sought after young lady on the
floor. When a no break waltz is an
nounced. there is always.a mad scram
ble for her hand. At baseball games
she is always the center of attraction
and many a visiting pitcher has been
taken frol the box because of his in
ability to keep his eyes off of the al
luring flapper. Her choice will be
keenly felt next year and Coach Laval

the other students. Her good nature
also wins many friends. I-er support

displayed in a bathing suit, she could
have defeated Mrs. Beard easily but
this was ruled unethical by the judges.

trude Rigby were other favorites and
