Leardo Stars
Last Friday a crowd of near two
thousand gathered to see Billy J.aal's
stuff. There is no doubt but that they
saw it from the favorable comments
passed by the onlookers. The squad
was divided, as in the first game, into
two groups, namely the Whites and
the Grays.
The game started off with a bang.
It was but a short time beiore dhe
charging-forward line and the fast
backfield of the Grays had annexed the
initial score. The Grays were always
on the offensive. thereby giving the
Whites some excellent opportunities
of defensive work.
Between halves, (ite a few of the
spectators left. No doubt they felt
they had seen enough to p)rove Coach
Laval's ability. Though interesting for
a time, spring football is not like foot
ball in the season.
The second half continued as the
first, with the Grays having the ad
vantage. The final score at the end of
the game was 2 t ti0 for the Grays.
A very unusual play was pulled dur
ing the gaite. The \'hites had the( ball
near their goal line and were going
to plitit it out. Leardo. the center on
the (Gray teamis sinia.shed through,
jiliuped up, blocked the kick and hold
ing the ball in the pit of his stomuach
where it had landed witi suci force,
tImbled across the line for a touch
down. It is reported that I.ard had

Coach Lavai has beei twirling them
