Miss Annie Louise Jones has returned from her home at Congaree.* Miss Eleanor l .ims spent the week enrd at her hnnie .in EdgefieldA ED NE MAYRE WALL, Eiditor Warning is Issued To Co-Ed Glee Club Members Must Attend Rehear sals Promptly if They Ex pect to Make Trip Co-ed Glee club has issued a warning to the effect that all who do not attend rehearsals regularly and promptly will forfeit their privilege to go on the road. To go on the road as the Co-ed Glee club is an honor granted only to a few out of the regular Giee club, and those who are selected must work hard and faithfully in order to hold'up the record set by preceding clubs, and in the short time left to put out a show that will be worthy of them. The Glee club has been laboring under great handicaps and trawbacks and it was deemed necessary to postpone the trip, which has been formerly made in December, until after exams. Tihe show this year is in the form of a revue and promises to be the best that the girls have attempted yet. The lat est song hits, brand-new dance steps, and original skits, feature throughout the en tire program, with a bit of classical "stuff" thrown in for good measure. USC Hypatian Society Discusses Poetry Misses Tolbert, Penland, Shearer Make Talks-Miss Shearer Elected Treasurer "Contemporary Poetry" was the sub ject of the program of the Hypatian literary society at its regular meeting on Wednesday a fternoon. Mliss Gilette 'Tolbert talked on Dulose Heyward's contrib)ution to literature, giving illus trations of his works. Mliss Shearer stressed the fact that Mrs. P'eterskin is a Sott Carolin :an andl that her work ranks among some of the best of contemporary fiction. Miss Harriet Whitaker has returned WS Officers Are Elected By Euphrosyneans Thelma Burgess, President; Har riet Baker, V. Pres.; Leila Johnson, Valedictorian Election of officers consumed the en tire time of the Euphrosynean iiterary society at its regular meeting on Wed nesday afternoon in the Euphradian hall. The following officers were elect ed: President, Miss Thelma Burgess; vice president, Miss Harriet Baker, sec retary, Miss Lois Flaum; treasurer, Miss Virginia Mulier; critic, Miss Thelma Lockman; censon, Miss Anne Trruesdale. The society elected Miss Ida Johnston senior valedictorian, and Miss Mildred Cone junior orator. In a few fitting words the president's key was presented to Miss Ida Johnston, the retiring president, by Miss Thelma Burgess, president-elect. Misses Ruth Brown, Beth Carson, Ruth DuRant and Othello Johnson were received into the society. USC Dr. Carson's Radio Entertain Inmates According to the patients in the In firmary, music not only has charms to soothe a savage breast, but mumps and measles as well. Dr. Carson's radio, which he has so generously attached so that the infirmary patients can enjoy it, has brought mitch pleasure and satisfac tion to all who have been confined. Mrs. Madden declares that the boys take pills to music much better than with coaxing. All who have enjoyed Dr. Carson', thoughtfulness are profoundly grateful. ;1ad it is hoped he will continue to see fit to bring this pleasure to the students. A frigidaire and a recently installed drinking fountain are other new assets that are adding to the comfort and use fullness of the infirmary. The fountain is an answer to a long-felt need among the stxlents, and Mrs. Madden says that it prevents miuch confusion and annoy ance that were formerly present. -USC Miss Douglas to be Hostess to Visitors Nliss Hina Day Deneen, of Washing ton1 arrived today as the guest of Miss EliztheI Douglias.
