Enlarged and Shown in Regular Play Houses Among the many interesting visitors .-to Carolina for the North Carolina State game was Mr. R. F. Love, sales repre sentative for Bell and Howell Company. This confgany is the manufacturer of the Fimo and Eyemo cameras for use of the amateur and professional protog rapher. The pictures, Mr. Love explained, can be enlarged and shown ira the regular movie houses or can be used for home use, in connection with the'Filmo pro jector. Following Mrs. Parkinson's address, a reception was given the delegates in the LeRoy Springs gymnasiuni by tthe Y.M.C.A. and the Press Association officers of Presbyterian College. On Friday morning the association went into its business session in the college chapel. The first part was given over to a report to the officers of the association. The convention. then vot ed upon the best magazine and best newspaper in the state. Recommended amendments to the constitutiom by the executive committee were passed by the convention. Columbia was chosen as the next meeting place of the As sociation. The Association closed its convention with a formal banquet in the Mary Musgrove tea room in Clinton. L. W. Jackson, Dr. Parkinson, and Prof. Mar shall Brown gave toasts. Music was furnished by the Presbyterian College orchestra. Carolina was represented at the con vention by the following men: Burton E. Shook, editor-in-chief of The Game cock; Jasper 0. Harold Funderburke then delivered an oration on "The Ad vancing South." No business was considered, the so ciety adjourning to the Clariosophic hall after the program was completed, for a joint session.. Roddey Medal Soon Be Competed- For Kaesh and Prltelmrd Defeat Hildbrnd and Mclftni in Feature Debate The day for the Roddey medal debat ing contest is fast drawing near. Friday night, December 16th, will see the rep resentatives of the Clariosophic and the Euphradian literary societies pit 'their verbal prowess against each other. Preliminaries to pick the finalists wili be held the week before in the respec tive society halls, where one man for the affirmative and one man for the neg ative will be chosen from each of the two societies. The question, "Resolved: that the pri mary system of elections should be abol ished," is ai interesting. one, one that is attracting the attention of the country at large. Each speaker will be allowed twenty five minutes, eighteen minutes for the main speech and seven minutes for the rebuttal. The medal, donated by Mr. John T. Roddey of Rock Hill some thirty-four years ago, is awarded annually to the best individual debater of the two men's societies. Last year, Mr. 0. L. Warr, now a graduate, won the medal.
