Frances Keith. Sarah Davis. Jane Brad ley, E.lise Currell, Isabel Currell, Flor ide Stoddard, Margaret Aycock, Mary Stuart Aycock. Gertrude Rowe, Carrie Williams, Cornelia Huggins and liliza beth Cantey. Receiving with Doctor and Mrs. Douglas, was their daughter, Miss .lizabeth Douglas, Dr. and Mrs. Leon ard T. The floors are of oak, that of the arena being of one and a half inch oak boards and the spec tators seats being mounted on three inch oak boards. Beneath the seats will be dressing rooms. club rooms, rooms to accomo date about 30 members of visiting teams and special shower and dressing rooms for both freshman and varsity sqiuads of visiting teams. This feature alone will save the athletic department a great deal of money in taking care of these teams. This splendid new building, one of the last and dearest projects of the late Dr. Will'ams D. Melton. will be of great value to Columbia and South Ca rolina in general as well as the Univer sity. The South Carolina Teacher, Convention will probably meet here in the future, the convention goes to Greenville this year because of no au ditoritmi in Columbia large enough to hold their meeting. Another impor ta nt use of the building, and one which D)r. William D). Melton, will be of filling, is to p)rovidle a place wvhere the. entire student body of the University miay' assemble. Not over 700 of the 1,500 studi(ents can lbe accomodated 'n th present chapel. Though defeated in the l,'ttle Triangle p)reliminaries and the inter-socety ,IC Carolina Glee Club to Present Program Will Make Initial Appearance With Full Schedule at the Inperial Theatre The Carolina Glee Club will give its arnal performance at the Imperial thea tre Weckesday night of next week. This marks the first apearance af the Glee Club this year with its regular program. The program promises to give the peo plie something new and entertaining, and juidging from the interest showni, 1)y every singer, it will undoubtedly excell all previous performances. Songs, stunts, and entertainment of various sorts will be distributed through mit the program. There will be several ensemble num hers, comic and classic ; several soios. duets, aid quartet selections. Many special numbers will be put on, such as .NyVhlone solos and various selections fr(om the string hand. The program will probobly he concluded with latest iazz hits. furnished by the Gamecock Orchestra. Not only are the resources of the library strained by the demands of the University itself, but by requests from citizens all over the rs state, who are seeking information that r- ony the University can give.
