The bridegroom was dressed in a I

1 pink hydrangea in his buttonhole. I
le also wore a smile.
The bridal company, including three
iridesmaids and three groomsmen,
marched from the front door to the
altar to the tune of "Collegiate."
After they had reached the altar and
#ere about to be united a wild eyed
roman rushed in crying, "Stop it!
Stop it 1"
The crowd seemed panic stricken.
1iowever, Mr. J. W. Zerbst, who was
at the mouth organ, showed rare pres

Is On."
After the crowd had pacified "the a

shredded wheat by cute little Hollin

Mr. James G. Driver was at the door
to see that no one got in without an

on forcing his way in.
Only three people were killed in the
confetti throwing which followed the
affair. They were:
John Pate, Harry Wolf, and Duke
Harris.

Cy Young Is Married
To University Co-nEd
Two Popular Students Quietly
Married at First Baptist
Parsonage
Owing to the fact that there will
be no issue for the Gamecock for three
or four weeks the editor was prevailed
upon to publish the following news
itemi in the Yellow Sheet. It is how
ever, a custom'not to publish anything
truthful but it is thought that in this
case it will be justified in leting some
thing truthful go in the issue because of
the persons involved.
Miss Blanche Folsom and "Cy"
Young were married Friday night at
the parsonage of the First Baptist
church of Columbia. This will occa
sion no surprise on the campus and it
was to be expected as a normal result
of a series of events.
The young bride is a very popular
young lady and has been active on the
campus during her short stay here.
The groom has a host of friends on
the Carolina campus and they all wish
him luck in his first martial venture.

Wedding Bells
Che Yellow Sheet has been very for
unate in securing some advance dope
in a fe v" very interesting wedding
hat wil: take place immediately after
he close of the school year. It seemn
s if the two recent weddings involving
arolina students have given the young
avers sufficient courage to come oul
a the open.
Mr. Edward Dudley of Bennettsville
vho will receive his diploma this June
xpects that his wedding to Miss Vir
inia Bradham of Laurens will tak<
lace the week after the .clo?e of the
pring term. When interviewed by
he reporter for the Yellow Sheet af
er the trial both of these young peo.
le seemed very much "wrapped up"
ith each other.
Perhaps one of the happiest couples

One of the most recent and chronic
)ve affairs on the Carolina campus is
bout to reach its climax, for into the
flice of the Yellow Sheet, Dame
tumor has brought an announcement
f the engagement of Miss Katherin<
mily Zeigler, daughter of Mr. and
Irs. W. C. Zeigler of St. George, to
Lerman Sydney Heyman of Chester.
The wedding date has not yet been

Mr. John Moore of Sumter,' the
"Prof's Delight" and would be a heart- -
smasher whose proud boast is that he
cannot be stumped on a question in
volving a knowledge of English, fell
inestimably low last week when he
failed to answer any one of the twen
ty-three questions in a representative
literary questionaire.
A typical case of Scotch reticency
was encountered in the case of Miss
Permelia Faile of Kershaw and Mr.
William McKinnon of Lykesland. The
young lady was only too glad to fui
nish information but the best that
'could be obtained from McKinnon
was a concise "yes" or 'no."
There is also a rumor afloat that
Mr. William Varn and a certain young
lady have smoothed over their diffi
culties and that soon the path will
again be strewn with roses. At the
time of going to press this rumor had
not been confirmed or denied.
It is hoped that these engagements
are only the beginning of such a series
of announcements that will emanate
from the Women's Building. Ever -
since the establishment of co-education
at the University it has been the fond
hope of the powers that be that Caro
lina would become a bureau for the
work of Cupid as well as a dwelling
place for the spirits of Minerva.
