King."

BEAT INDIANS.
But Wednesday was the day, the
balconies were packed, the S. R. 0.
sign was out, fully 1400 people were
on hand to see one of the most ex
citing games ever played on University
court, and the Gamecocks were off on
the State Championship race.
Four minutes after the tip-off and
neither team had scored, then Wollet
made a foul and Rogers dropped a
counter through for the first point.
The Indians did not score a field goal
for 13 minutes and the Gamecocks
had piled up a respectable lead, the
half ending 15 to 8..
After the intermission hostilities
were renewed, if such a thing were
possible, more intensely and bitterly
than before. With only two minutes to
play, the score was 23 to 21 and every
one was in the highest pitch of ex
citement.
The game was hard fought through
out and was marred by many perso
nal fouls,nevertheless there was never
a more closely and bitterly fought
game in the University Gym and the
entire student body breathed m.uch
easier when the battle was o'er.
If ever a man earned for himself
a name in the Carolina Hall of Fame
that man is Silas Seidemann for his
stellar work at guard. No wonder the
much vaunted Indian forwards failed
to register with Si on the job.
Jack Wright also played an excel
lent game, but so did every other man
who entered 'he game. To each one of
them goes the credit of a great vic
tory.
The Birds had greatly improved their
passing over the previous game and
showed much easier floor appearance.
The debonair Rogers could never be
stirred, the tall Lillard ruffled or the
speedy Wise halted.

But when he's with a real nice girl,
To look, he will not try,
He is a regular "model man"
Even as you and I. .
She: "Music has its charms to soothe

He: "The next time I come I'll bring

She: "Oh couldn't you make it a
