Hypatians Meet The Hypatian L,iterary Society met March 5, 1923. Miss Louise Ihomas, Miss Louise Kingian and Virginia Wofford were received into the society. The critic then anotinced the exteil poraneous speaker, Nliss Mattie Var:i. and her subject was "College Spirit Anmong the Co-eds." 'Iiss MIargaret Iw.ncaster gave Cam pus Topics. Nliss Grace King gave a readiing, "I,illian at the Novics." Tle play "ioiesty" by I Paul i er rien, was produilced by the following cast Nliss Virginia Brabham as lHen riette, Miss Tihelma Penland as jaepues and Miss Rosa Heyward as Albert. The society (iscusse(d plans for the party that they are plaimining to give dIring the teachers'meeting to be held this mlloIthl. An Important Question Fellows and Co-eds! Here's a ques tion of the mnost vital interest to all Carolina sudents. On the decision hangs tile future success or failnre of our university, for it is concerlle(d with the most inmportant; principle up.ni which our institution is based. Now the question: Are we upholding our Honor Principle as we should? Are we cherishing it as its founders in tended it to be cherished? if so, good! Keep it ill ! If not, why not ? I am afraid the great majority of us have not taken this Great Principle to heart. We let it slide alon,g as we do some of our lessois. We are apt to say, "Oh, well, no USC to \\orry about iow the Hionor System is or is not Working, I'll let the 11onor Committee men do that." Now if anyone has con ceived of a plan whereby tile commllit tee can iisure the IHoor Principle, I feel certain that the committee would deeply appreciate the revelation and WOUld immediately put it to work. But since it is trie that no committee ..f sixteen persons can hol( ill trust the iolnomr (f nine ulindred it is o)bvioisly necessary thiat eerye silld dit) his or her share. DIIn't get tile idea that the IlH(inr Comnlitteelmlel are 'policellell. They are .nlot ! F.veryone is responsible! L.et's think of this alld if we see SImle thing goinlg wro)ng and haven't spunk eollugh to set it right ourselves, let's See a Comm11i1itteemtal andI h,, will set it right. If we d() mur share tile cimilit tecillel voIl't have mu11cl diflieulty inl d(oing theirs. Anid i.n futire years we will be proud of our dear alia llmater and can tsay.
