The men chosen were: 'residet, V.ar e .Black;vice-ptresidient, NIciride Dabb s; literary critic, Nialclm NIcCrae; secr tarv. Niarin Gressette; treasurer. RObdrt Gregory; financial secretary. lercules Wise; censor. Rohert Shand ; r(rderly critic. W. C. Joilismn ; custos forum, 1. 1'. ,ancy; recorder, "I'at" Adams; re porter, S. W. Fichel. Mr. Bslack is a very active member (f the Society. He has participated in several oratorical cintests and debates; last year le wi,nI the Peeples medal foIr the best arglttment by a law student upom an agreed case. Ile is the president ()f the I,aw AssociatiI in this asso)ciat il .t lar. weekly meetings known as the Miti Court, where the students have an om portunity to practice the principles they learn in the classroom. Mr. Black hails from Aiken. The Fuphardiain Society has a strong leader for the ensuing teri. The vice-presidet . r. Dabbs, is a sen ior in the Academic School and has been a faith ful member of the Society for the past three years. He is the present cdi tor of the GAMn:cOrK and a member of the Honlor Club. Mr. McCrae. the new literary critic, is a well known law student who is well suited for his job and his position is very important as ho corrects the faults and mistakes of the debaters. The other of ficers are all popular students whi have slimiwi their willingness t() dib this kind of work. As this night was election night there was no literary program. The members were at ease during the electiin ad smokes ait( salted peanuts were passe around by the refreshment emmittee. The evoning was very pleasantly spent by all and a litte fun was indulged in occasionally---M r. Adams, 4n binIllg elect - ed, was called fin to "blo for the cross ing."
