With the Alumni.
Julian Johnson, who graduated in law
last June, was a visitor on the campus
during the past week. "Jule" is prac
ticing his profession in Georgetown and
is fast becoming one of the leadimg
barristers of his native city.
"Wash" Clark, '22, known far and
wide as a reformer of campus life, has
given up his ministerial studies at the
Presbyterian Seminary and is now teach
ing English at Greenville Hi. We regret
to hear that "Wash" has backslided, but
at the same time we wish him the very
best of luck in his new undertaking.
"Tommie" McMillan, '12, and famous
as a collegiate baseball player, is the
popular speaker of the lower house of
the General Assembly.
Alan Mimms, '22, was a visitor in the
city a few days ago. Alan holds a re
sponsible position with a well-known firm
in Florence.
Clarence Castles, '22, is teaching in
Mayesville.
Henry McCleod, '22, is a professor at
Wofford Fitting School in Spartanburg.

Staying up late at night doesn't agree
with anybody, especially if you have to
play a game of basketball the next day.
This was provei very conclusively last
Saturday when the co-eds lost to Colum
bia Hi, 12 to 8. The Pullets were at a
disadvantage playing on Chicora's court,
which was especially slick and a bit
muddy for the occasion, and this, coupled
with the celebrations of the night be
fore over the victory over Anderson,
spelled defeat for the Pullets in the last
game of the City League. They played
a rather slow game. but they opened up
with a rush at the last that looked dan
gerous for the -Ti girls. The high school
led throughout, the score at the end of
the first half heing 6 to 4 in favor of
the high school. Merideth led in scoring
for the Pullets with five points. Gayle
had the distinction of making all the
points for the high school.

the road. Kid Parsons, although he is
manager and rates all of the trips, says
that he is going to earn his way along
with the rest of the gang. He could not
run because he had to supply the re
porter with dope, but he can be counted
on for five points when the State Meet
conies off. Peebles, Varn, McKinnon,
Dabbs, Williams, Rowe and Moseley are
some of the newi men out. Many more
are expected in a few days.
"Oh, yes, there goes Barre and Price
over the hurdles. Watch that style. Bur
ney Smith would turn green with envy
if he could see them now." These two
lads need no introduction. They are ex
pecting some assistance from Captain
Parsons and "First Place" Frazier.
"Bill" Poole says lie is out to make the
hundred yard dash in ten flat this year.
If Clemson has anything that can beat
it they had better bring it along. Hana
han and Meeks seem to be taking care
of the 440 and 880. It is hard to beat
this pair. They are not alone, because
"Hob" Gregory, Barre, "Sambo" Morrow
and Mays are all new, but showing their
stuff.
No regular schedule has been arranged
as yet, but Captain Parsons gives out the
following as tentative:
A meet with Davidson at Columbia.
The "Devil Dog" Marines, possibly
at Parris Island.
University of Tennessee. Place un
settled.
The Tri-State Meet with the Univers
ities of North Carolina and Georgia at
Columbia. This will be held sometime
early in April.
Plans are on foot for a meet with
North Carolina State. More is to be
heard fron this lat-_r.
The season will wind up with the
State Meet here in Columbia.
There are a lot of men in the studeist
body who should make good material
for the track team. There is a plan to
have an inter-class track meet Saturday
week. Each class is urged to get out all
men possible because they have to uphold
the honor of the class as well as supply
the track team with men.
Sometime ago several of the students
were discussing the tacky party given by
the Y. M. C. A. The following was
heard:
