EUPHRADIAN SOCIETY
The Euphradian Literary So
ciety held its regular meeting on
last Friday night with a very
good attendance. Mr. J. 0. Van
Metre, an alumnus of the society,
and Physical Director of the Uni.
versity, was present. lie gave a
short and snal)ppy talk, impressing
upon the new muen, especially, the
benefit that can be derived from
work put into a literary society.
The following program was car
ried out:
Current Events: W. C. Floyd;
Extemnporaneous Speaker, J. W.
Beasley; Debate: Resolved that
the Simonhoff bill should be pass
ed. Affirmative, S. A. Black, W
F. Parker. Negative, G. L. Taylor,
R. H. Ramsey.
The judges rendered their de
cision in favor of the negative.
The Fair week meeting, according
to custom, will be dispensed with.
On Friday night, November 4,
will be the regular election of of
ficers. Every member is urged to
be present. Following is the pro
