TENEMENT 22
WINS OUT AGAIN
In the recent series of Mission
Study Groups conducted by the
Y. W. C. A.. the group in- Tene
ment 22. Thornwell Building,
under the leadership of 1,. 11. Cox,
finished at the head of the list, as
regarding attendance. etc. As a
result of this victory, the group
enjoyed a delightful party on last
lhursday evening. Ice cream
and cakes were served and every
hody enjoyed themselves to the
fullest.
Tenement 22 has a record to be
proud of. In the B. 1). G's and
M. S. G's she has come out among
the first, and this group has al
ways (one some of the best work
of any of the groups on the cam
pus. It is to be noted that out
of the seven delegates from Car
olina who attended the Student's
Volunteer Convention at Ander
son College, five wvere from Ten
ement 22, Thornwell.
UNIVERSITY PROFESSOR
GIVEN HIGH HONOR
Prof. J. Bruce Coleman, l lead
of the Department of Mathemat
ics at the t.niversity of South Car
olina, has been selected by the Na
tional Council of Mathematics
Ieachers to represent this State.
'I'his announcement was received
from j. N. Minnick of the LJniver
sity of Pennsylvania, president of
the National Council.
Professor Coleman's duties as
State representative will be to act
in an advisory capacity in the inter
ests of the National Council and
for the promotion of the teaching
of mathematics thruout the coun
try.

RIFLE TEAM CLOSES
SUCCESSFUL SEASON.
Last Saturday afternoon the
rifle team defeated the UJniver
sity of Georgia by a score of 965
to 931, bringing to a successful
close the 1921 season.
Carolina met some of the best
teams in the South and lost 1
match only--to Auburn. Other
scores are as follows:

only part of those who will be
there.
Besiles these men on the speak
ing program, there will be the Fa
mous Fisk quartette, of Columbia
Phonograph record fame. 'I'his
quartette of Negro singer., are
without peers in their line, and
will add greatly to the occasion.
.\nd lbesides, fellows, just look
1)r. Gee will be there to teach a
short course on Rural Sociology.

Our representatives in the State
1 ntercollegiate 'lennis Meet held
last week on the \Vofford cam

and Van:lleter, who upheld the
Garnet and Black in both singles
and doubles, lost to the Seminary
boys in the finals for the doubles
6-1, 6-2 and 6-4. We had hoped
that they would return with the
cup, but since they had to lose,
we are glad it was to ex-Carolin
ians-Brealy and H]udson. They
lost in the singles prelims ; how
ever, we congratulate them on
the game fight that they put up.
