g SPEAKS TO STUDENTS.
a Dean Brown of Yale Divinity
School Lectures at University.
"Choosing a Life Work"
was the subject of a short but
decidedly instructive lecture
delivered before the University
student body Monday morning
S by Charles R. Brown, dean of
the Yale divinity school.
There are three important
choices a young man must
make, Dean Brown said-the
choice of a wife, a profession
and of religion. Neither of
these should be made hurried
ly, one of the functions of a
college, the speaker thought,
was to reveal to men and wo
men their natural bent in a life
work and so permitting them
in their last years of college life
to train for the business or pro
fession for which their talents
most fitted them.
These were momentous
times, Dean Brown said, times
in which history was making;
times in which the leading
parts were to be played by col
lege men. So men in choosing
their life work should be gov
erned by other motives than
the mere accumulation of
money. Happiness and con
tentment in the life work were,
he said, even more important
than wealth and, therefore,
many a young man might best
invest his life in the communi
ty where he could help his fel
lows and at the same time win
happiness and contentment.
"Love is what makes a silly
grin look like a heavenly
smile."
"A young man always takes
a girl's hand before asking for
it."
"If a boy goes to school until
he is 21 and then gets married
the chances are that he will
never be able to realize that all
men are born free and equal."

c4 fact:
Of the many elaborate functions arranged
for the Prince of Wales during his recent
New York visit, there was one in particular
where only the exclusive few of New York
society were received. And at this affair
the cigarette chosen by the committee in
charge to be served the guests was Fatima.

Nor is the reason difficult to find. Three
