DAVIDSON TAKES MEET BY SCRATCH. (Continued from Page 1.) sociation contest May 15. Much credit for the excellent showing made by the Game cocks aginst the fast Davidson team is due Coach Olson. Prof. Olson took charge of the team late in the season when efforts to secure a full-time coach fail ed, and made of the raw mate rial a team which promises to plove the ability of Prof. Olson as a track coach. He is a form er smasher of Western track records, coming to the Uni versity faculty from North Dakota. We feel sure had Prof. Olsen had charge of the team a suflicient period of time it would have won the meet by a greater margin than that by which it lost. Mile run : D)ick (Davidson) first place ; Fricker' (David son), second place; Crosbs J. E. JOHNSON SPEAKS AT Y. M. C. A. MEETING. Interstate Secretary Tells of Y. M. C. A. Conference at Blue Ridge. Last Wednesday night, at the regular weekly . meeting, Mr. J. E. Johnson of Charlotte addressed the Y. M. C. A. con cerning the Blue Ridge Con ference, which will be held in June. The conference is a religious gathering of delegates from 1 colleges all over the South. Here they meet for ten days and hear addresses from some of the most prominent men in the country, such as Dr. James I. Vance, John R. Mott, Robt. E. Spear and others. Here one has the opportunity of meeting college students from all over the South, and of en joying the brisk mountain cli mate. Sports of all kinds can be engaged in, such as moun-i tain climbing, baseball, tennis, swimming, etc. Mr. Johnson emphasized the value of this conference, and would assure any one that he would not regret attending. Several of those present ex pressed their desire to go. It is hoped that Carolina will have more than twenty dele gates. CAROLINA DELEGATES TO BLUE RIDGE.
