forced Tennessee to kick con
stantly. Goodman outbooting
Hatcher and Carolina gaining
with every exchange. A fum
ble gave Tennessee the ball for
its only bid of the second half
for a counter.
Gamecocks Kick Off.
Carolina won the toss and
elected to kick. B. Smith kick
ed 30 yards to McCabe, who re
turned five. Hatcher hit the
line for no gain. Evans got two
and a half over right tackle.
Hatcher hit guard and was
stopped, but broke away for 18
yards, placing the ball on Caro
lina's 45 yard line. Evans hit
the line for four and a half
and McCabe made it first down.
Hatcher went six and Evans
two. Blair was thrown for a
yard loss, but on a double pass
McCabe took 15 around left
end placing the ball on Caro
lina's one foot line. H. Blair
went over guard for a touch
down. Hatcher missed goal.
Hatcher kicked off to Brock
ington, who sidestepped his
way 12 yards to mid field. Tim
mons took six around left end
and Goodman two over tackle.
Skinner went off tackle for first
down. Forward pass, Good
man to Timmons, netted eight
yards. Carolina was penalized
five for offside. Forward pass,
Timmons to Brockington, net
ted six yards. Another pass,
Timmons to Brockington, net
ted five yards and first down.
Blount took three over center.
Tennessee intercepted a for
ward pass. Tennessee's ball
on own 25 yard line. McCabe
recovered a free fumble for a
first down. Hatcher punted
38 yards to Timmons, who re
turned fcur. On an attempted
end run, Timmons lost eight.
Goodman punted 35 yards to
McCabe in mid field, who was
downed in his tracks. Hatch
er failed to gain thru the line.
McCabe tried left end with no
gain. Carolina offside. Ten
nessee first down. McCabe hit
the line for no gain. Skinner
intercepted a forward pass and
ran ten yards to mid field.
Goodman took one over right
tackle. Timmons took two at
the same place and three and a
half over left guard. Quarter
up. Ball in Carolina's posses
sion on Tennessee's 48 yard
line

incomplete. Goodman took a

Brockington for touchdown.
Goodman punted out to Skin
ner. B. Smith missed goal.
Timmons kicked off fifty yard
to Hatcher, who returned five.
Hatcher punted 30 yards to
Timmons, who returned five.
Skinner took 12 yards around
right end. Goodman smashed
off tackle for eight, but went
out of bounds on the line of
scrimmage. Timmons skirted
left end for eight. Blount made
five off tackle. Timmons went
over guard for first seven. Skin
ner raced around right end for
10 yards, but Carolina was pen
alized 15 for holding. Tim
mons forward passed to Brock
ington for 10. Goodman failed

Second Half.
Timmons kicked 45 yards to
McCabe, who returned 15.
Both Evans and McCabe failed
to gain and Hatcher punted to
Carolina's 30 yard line. Skin
ner lost 5 on attempted end
run. Goodman kicked 35 yards
out of bounds. Blair tripped
left end and lost 1 yard. Evans
hit tackle for no gain. Hatcher
punted 35 yards to Carolina's
25 yard line. Carolina pen
alized 5 yards for not having
7 men on line of scrimmage.
Goodman kicked to mid field.
Blair took seven over guard
and McCabe made first clown.
Both Evans and Blair tried the
line with no gain. McCabe lost
2 yards on double pass. Hatch
er punted 20 to the 20-yard
line. Goodman took six off
tackle and Timmons made it
first dlown. Skinner took four
