a good team. Powell did well
in the box and Pippen made a
good showing, both in the field
and at the bat.
The Gamecocks took the
lead in the first inning. With
two men out Clarke. single and
=stole second. Seaborn's double
drove him home. In the second

looked like a sure hit, but
Evans grabbed it and threw to
Parker, doublling Pollock off

GOLD MEDAL OFFERED
TO WINNING WRESTLER
Van Meter to Give Medal at
Tournament
Mr. Van Metre has offered a
gold medal to the man winning
out in the wrestling tournament
to be held this month. The
preliminaries will consist of
matches between the men of
the individual classes, one man
from each class to be in the
finals. This is not confined to
gym. students, but is open to
the entire student body.
The "Twilight League" will
open its season in a week or
two. Six teams are to be
chosen from the present gym.
class, and as many others will
be formed as is possible. This
sport will afford much pleas
ure, as well as the benefit to be
derived from it.
One-third of the basketball
schedule has been completed.
Team No. 4, Charlie Culp, cap
tain, is in the lead. It is hoped
that this practice will help to
develop next year's varsity.
