COKER COLLEGE GETS GLEE CLUB'S OPENER First Program of Season Ren dered Friday at Hartsville. The University Glee Club will give its opening concert in the auditorium of Coker Col lege, Hartsville, Friday even ing, beginning at 8:30 o'clock. The club members have met regularly since organization and their work now reveals the trained unity so necessary for successful rendition of their many excellent musical selec 1 ions. Those who will make the trip are: First tenors, Thomas Hawkins, Hagood ; second ten ors, W. C. Hodges, Stover, Rob inson ; baritones, Boggs, Dusen bury and bassos, Bell and E. P. Hodges. Edward P. Hodges is president of the club and Julian D. I)usenbury, is man ager. The program which will be rendered at Coker includes the following: Medley of Carolina songs, by the the club. LITERARY SOCIETIES HOLD SHORT SESSION Members of the literary so cieties found it impossible Sat urday night to warm up to their assigned subjects. The fire was stubborn and the halls cold and cheerless. Even th epaintings of Calhoun and Webster and Brandenburg failed to bring forth the accustomed flow of oratory. They may so develop their oratorical powers 1 that the musical sound of their 'o ices will cause them to uti lize the few remaining silent spots. Speaks in Chapel. The Rev.
