Just about two weeks mor<

Meantime we are having a perio(

The schedule is arranged. Wh<

The coach, captain, and mana

AN APPRECIATION
Following the securing of out
law building there was one im
portant phase that failed to be
stressed. Few men at the Uni.
versity realize how near failure
this project was or to whom the
greatest part of the thanks fI
its inclusion in the general ap.
propriation bill was due. Nevei
in the history of South Cai olini
legislation has an item passed
thri such a stormy and incertail
career, to em neirlge unchanged as
a realization of the dreams of its
supporters. To this, however,
- we might add that seldom befor(
has a measure had such loyal
suplt orters. The leader and life
of these supporters was Prof. E.
Marion Rucker of our law faculty.
Prof. Rucker was for a numbei
of years chairman of the Ways
and Means Committee of the
House of Iepresentatives. Fron
the time he ,joined our faculty
his energy and influence have
been dir"ected towards this im
provement. For the entire forty
three days the legislature was in
session Prof. Rucker spent every
spare hour exerting his influenec
and exhorting others to use theirs
towards this much needed ad
dition to the University. Many
claim that without his interest
our (dream wou ald never have
been realized at this time. Thus
we ex tendl to h im our' most hear t
felt thanks in the name of' the
studlentis of' the U niversity, know
ing at the same time that we
v ~oice the sentiment of the fac
ulty, the alutmnii andl all true
friendls of' the University.
