W, Lynch to publish the following note of thanks to the faculty anc students: Allow me to express my hearl felt anpreciation of the exceea. ingly kind and thoughtful man. ner in which the faculty and stu dents of the University so grac iously remembered me Christ mas. I especially desire thal each of you feel that yoLI hav( materially aided me in car-rying on a lengthy struggle for health. No one should think that his con. tribution was small for it pos. sessed the opposite characteristicE when it reached me. This fighi has been called "the lone g tme, but since so many friends on th( campus have enlisted their sym. pathetic and helpful attitu le it my behalf I do not feel en:raged in so lone a game. The picture of students, whos< days are crowded with joyous ac. tivities, using their spen-ling money in so thoughtful a ma mtet p)resents an example of rare fine. ness which can frequently be niot. ed of the University men. Ftorr your kind act I receive inspira. tion to continue the fight. I am unable to express my pro found appreciation for your gift, but I desire that you feel that you have greatly benefited ir these respects. Accept my best wishes for happy and prosperous new year.
