yard line i4 Carolin#s posGpsion.
Kerr opened the second half by
kiei to Wessinger. TWQ lipe
plays failed to gain, but a for
ward pass tio lenken -made it
first down. Carolina played good
ball at this stage. Harry Hamp
ton threw Kennedy for a loss
and Seaborn broke up a for
ward pass. Dellmin 9hot a for
ward pass to Williams, on the ten
yard line. Another forward pass
failed and a line play was unsuc
cessful. DelImin dropped back
to bis,16.yard line and dropkicked
the ball. between: the posts for
another three points. '
The game -after- Newberry's
second counter developed into a
kiking 'contest with Kennedy
oqtbpoting Harry Hampton. The
Lutherans put across two for
ward passes to Williams and one
to Taylor.- which resulted in a
near touchdown and the ball was
fumbled inside Carolina's 20 yard
line.
The last quai'ter was qractical
ly a standoff. The Gamecocks
hammered at the line to the ex
clusion of end runs but with less
than one yard to make on a third
down, an end run was attempted
with a loss of a yard and a half
and a kick was necessary.
The management was consid
erate of the spectators having
each penalty and the cause an
nounced from the sideline and
announcing substitutions as they
were made. This duty was in
the hands of Luke Hill who made
it a feature of the game. The
Carolina players also wore num
bers.
