"Spirit, Mind, Body."
Dr. Morse delivered his second
address on the negro problem
Wednesday evening, May 16.
His topic was, "Fifty Years of
Negro *Progress." It was de
livered well and was much en
joyed. After speaking of the
progress of the negro in the
South since the war, he declared
that "if the negro had been en
slaved anywhere else, he would'
not have fared half so well. The
world is gradually realizing this
fact, and compliments the South
for the fine work she did in help
ing the negro."
The last lecture of a series of
three was delivered on last Wed
nesday evening. At the sug
gestion of Dr. Morse, the
last meeting was a free for all
discussion. A hearty discussion
of the South's greatest problem
was engaged in, and the evening
was very enjoyable and instruct
ive.
