and Austin Smith. a member of
the junior class. At a meeting
of the junior clas3 on Tuesday
morning the following resolu
tions were adopted:
WHEREAS, In His infinite wis
dom and tender mercy, God
has seen fit to remove from this
world our esteemed alumnus,
Lewis Wardlaw Parker, father
of our beloved classmate, Austin
S. Parker; and
WHEREAS, We the junior class
of the University of South Caro
lina, sorrowing under this deep
loss to the family and the State
and to ourselves; Be it therefore
Resolved, That we, the junior
class, extend our heartfelt sym
pathy 'to the bereaved family
and assure them of our feeling
of distinct personal loss; and be
it further
Resolved, That a copy of these
resolutions be sent to the be
reaved family, and a copy be in
serted in the columns of the
State, News and Courier, Green
ville Dailey News and THE GAME
COCK. .
