Captain McMillan is now in his
third year at the University, and
has played star ball for two sea
sons. Many of the teams that
have met Carolina on the Gri<'
iron [now of his strength at
tackle. Wh(n in action he is

Against Virginia, at hom-,
aiu Georgetown, in Washington,
McMillian did star work. The
referee of the game in Washing
ton said that he did the best line
work seen on the field.

"Jim" RZhea, B. S. '13. who
has been with the State Bureau
of Agriculture since his grad
uation, has accepted a position
as chemist with a cement plant
at Bridg-ennrt, enn.

Trip Planned for Spring.
The Glee Club has been organ
ized and after many try-outs the
lucky ones have been awarded aI
place for their efforts. At a
recent meeting E. P. Hodges
was elected president and J. W.
Wilkes manager, with Dr. Reed
Smith, director. Under this
trio,with the material at hand,
the club promises to be one of
the best Carolina bas had for a
number of years.
The University is deeply in
debted to Dr. Reed Smith for
the work he has done in promot
ing the Glee Club; for several
years he has s ent much of his
time in pushing forward this
part of student activity.
The list of members, some of
whom have made good records
in college stage work before, are
as follows:
First tenor, William Heyward
and M. Stannard; second tenor,
R. L. Osborne and Frank Sims;
baritone, J. W. Wilkes and W.
E. Snipes; bass, E. P. Hodges
and Newton; accomplnist, A.
G. Horne. These men w ill form
the regular double quartet.
Others will be added to the list
of members for the concert.
The varsity quartet composed of
Frank Sims, M. Stannard, J. W.
Wilkes, and E. P. Hodges have
made several appearances dur
ing the year.
The first concert will be in the
chapel within the next few
weeks. The date to be given out
later. After this nianager- Wi.k
es will take his troop through
the upper part of the State
where they will visit several of
tle towns and girls' colleges in
that section. Other engage
ii.t nts, t-e dates of which have
i-ot Lcen set, will be filled after
.ie trip up State. The varsity
quartet l.as filled several dates
along with the speaker on the
extension program.
The Glee Club may be able to
deve:op a good vaudeville as we
have a good supply of "Mutts"
and "Jeffs" andI even "Charlie
Chapi:ns," who seem to be anx
ious to exhibit their ta.ents.
Fred Rudisill, who played sec
ond base for Carolina in 1914,
passed thru last Thurday.
