Term Officers Elected at
Diplomats' Meeting.
The International Polity Club
was addrest Friday evening by
Mr. Irvine F. Belser, an alum
nus of the University, of Yale,
and of Oxford. The address
was very interesting and force
ful. A heated discussion of Mr.
Belser's remarks followed his
talk.
Mr. Belser chose as his subject
"The world war and its lessons."
This he subdivided into the three I
following heads: the nature and
function of international law, the
fatuity and undesirability of uni-,
versal peace, and the duty of the
United States under these cir-.
cimstances. The speaker did c
nit believe that there is any']
equivalent of war in the estab-:
lishment and maintenance of na- I
tional ideals, and exprest his
views in favor of extensiv na
tional preparedness.
Following the discussion of
Mr' Belser's speech the club
went into the election of officers
for the second term. The pres
ent president, vice-president,
and secretary were re-elected.
The following are the officers:

C. Main.
It was announct that Mr.
Norman Angell would address
the club in February.
The club has received much
