FRESHMEN LOSE TO SECOND YEAR MEN Hard Fought Class Game Wor by Sofomores. The sopfmores defeated th( freshmen last Tuesday in th( second of the inter-class foot ball games by the score of 12 t< 0. The game was hard foughl and both teams showd plenty ol pep. The sofomores found in the freshmen worthy opponents, and both teams playd stellai football. Soon after the gam( started, Anderson for the fresh. men and Collier for the sof omores were knockt out. Af ter that no more were injurd and neither team showd an5 tendency to "ruf it up" as ih usually the case with clasr games. Anderson returnd ir the second half and playd good football. No one could make a predic tion with any degree of accuracy as to how the score would stand until the second quarter. Ir this period the sofomores scord a touchdown after Sims had brot the ball within ten yards oJ the goal line by a pretty run. The sofomores' second touch down came at the beginning ol the fourth quarter. The outstanding feature of th( game was the playing of th( two quarterbacks, Lindsay, foi the freshmen and Sims for th( sofomores. Both made severa splendid runs, and ran theii teams with skill. The meetieg next Saturday evening being the last before the Christmas holidays, the Clario sophic Society will not have a regular program but will turr the meeting into a smoker and a general get-together spirit will be the order of exercises. Hon orary members and Columbia alumni are invited. JUNIOR-SENIOR GAME IS SCORELESS TIE Neitner Team Able to Score in Hard Fought Struggle. The juniors and seniors battled to a scoreless tie in the second class football game on Friday. Consequently the final game w ith the sofomores will have to be postponed until the tie is played off. The game was scheduld to be gin at three-thirty, but on ac count of lengthy disputes as to the eligibility of various players, was not begun until after four. Both teams enterd the contest somewhat weakend and disor ganized by the loss of several men who were declared ineligi ble at the last moment. The teams were very evenly matcht. Each threatend to score several times but was held -for downs or thrown for a loss in the shadow of its goal post. Osborne, of the seniors, and Schacte, of the juniors, were the stars in the backfield and did the most of the gaining for their re spective teams. Roberts, of the seniors, and Pearcy, of the ju niors, also did excellent work on ends. Both teams faild to run interference for the man carry ing the ball. One feature of the game was that the seniors nei ther made any substitutions or calld for time thruout the entire game. Seniors. Juniors.
