CAROLINA DEFEATED A. AND M. BY 19 TO 10 Agriculturists Rallied in Last Half of Game. Whole Team Played Good Game. Stars Were Folger, Hill and Copley. In a stubbornly contested game the University defeated North Carolina Agricultural and Me chanical College at Raleigh last Thursday 19 to 10. Carolina made three touchdowns and kicked one goal; A. & M. put over one touchdown, and a drop kick from the 35 yard line. The Gamecocks started with plenty of "pep" and enthusiasm, mak ing all of their points in the first half. A. & M. braced up in the final half, scoring 10 points in last few minutes. FIRST QUARTER A. & M. kicked off. Detling brought the ball back 10 yards. After a penalty of 10 yards. gains by Detling, Folger, and Hill brought the ball to the 15 yard line. Folger went around left end for a touchdown three min utes after the game started. Copley kicked goal. Soon afterwards it was Caro lina's ball on her 30 yard line. Detling plunged through the center for 15 yards. Carolina was penalized 10 yards. A for ward pass by Detling to Folger netted 30 yards. Lauden took 3 yards. Folger went around left end for 35 yards. SECOND QUARTER Detling and Folger made short gains. Detling carried the ball over the goal line. Carolina kicked off. A. & M. made 30 yards. Intercepting a forward pass, Folger went 50 yards for a touchdown. TIIRD QUARTER Neither side scored during this quarter. A forward pass by Copely to Crouch backed by Riha's and Detling's gains brought the ball to A. & M's 2 yard line. The North Carolin. ians took the ball on downs. Rice and Bomer took the ball 19 yards af ter Carolina was penalized 15 yards. Sullivan caught a for ward and made A. & M's touch down. Carolina kicked off. Af ter A. & M. brought the ball to Carolina's 35 yard line, Bomer kicked a field goal. Neither side scored after this. The stars of the game were Folger, Detling, Hill, and Copley.
