The dlarniedest thing we know is an old sock. Ernest 1-orton certainly does take down the highballs. The girls like baseball because there is a diamond in sight. "Dog killed on a:sylum road" It knew better where to go than some people. Altho it is not time for ripe cherries, it is rip' time for some cheering at the games. Talking ab)out collars, don't h)ull oil a thing tomorrow that should be taken off today. It's a long long way to tip-er nigger since the passage of the anti-tipping bill. The appendicitis p)atients still re fer to it as the table of con ten ts. Probably they blame the con tents of the table. OUR SOCIAL LIFE The social life at Carolina seems to be waning. Formerly most of the students, especially the upper classmen, took some active part in the dances, recep tions of the women's colleges, and the other numerable college activities. At present it seems that we would rather go to the movies than to dance or to at tend the receptions. True it is that most of us who are invited attend the junior-senior recep tions or any big affair, but there does not seem to be the hunger ing chance to go to the two col leges. Personally we know there has never been a prettier and more refined or more charm ing set of young ladies at any college than those in attendance at our two women's colleges. But our idea is not to uge you to go to see girls, altho that is the most pleasant occupation we know of. What we are after is to get a better cooperation in our Easter Week festivities and the other social functions of our campus. If you do not take ad vantage-of your chances at col lege, you probably never will. Half of your college training should be along the social line. No matter how much you know you will not do well in this old world, unless you take part in the right kind of society. You owe it to yourself to get in the swim. Get busy and invite a girl to spend Easter Week in Columbia. By all means take an active part yourself. OUR ADVERTISERS Spring is upon us with all its beauty. Soon the trees will 'don' their new 'varsity-five' suits to be ready for the queen of Easter Week. The girls are already 'blldding out' in their new suits and hats. Soon, we, following ever upon the tracks of style, will invest ourselves with a new 'coat suit. and bonnet,' not to speak of the change from high shoes to slippers etc. Many of us will purchase these necessaries in Columbia.
