Editor, Miss Pearl Price. Member of the co-ed organi zation are asked to assemble in the study Wednesday a. m. at at 10:30. There are a number of important questions to be dis cussed and the president desires a full attendance. Mrs. Love chaperoned the girls of the University to the mid-winter reception, held Mon day night in the University gym nasium. This is the first time that the girls have attended any purely social occasion of the Col lege and the students made every effort to give them a pleasant evening. The co-eds met last Wednes day and organized an athletic club. The following officers were elected. Miss Elizabeth Ayer, president; Miss Eva Sea wright, vice-president. There were about twelve pres ent at this meeting and it is hop ed.thru this organization the in terest in athleti.s among the co-eds will increase. Y. M. C. A. Meeting. The delegation sent to the Lay men's Missionary Convention held in Charlotte gave a brief account of the assembly in the last meeting of the Y. M. C. A. A general outline of the conven tion giving its purpose and object was described and then the gists of several speeches were set forth in short talks. The meeting was outlined by the men in the fol lowing order: Hanna, Scott, Dabbs, Secretary King, and H,. C. Brearley. After the talks a short busi ness meeting followed in which the nominating committee sub-, mitted their nominations of the officers of the Y. M. C. A. for next year. The following men will be voted on at the next meeting: President, J. McB. I)abbs; Vice-Pres., Merrimon and Crow: Sec., H. C. Brearley; Treas., Waters. According to the constitution the men elected for these four positions will nominate the other members of the cabinet. Trustees to Meet. The board of trustees of the1 University will meet in the library next Thursday at 11 o' 'lock. It is understood that they will take up the matter of which building will be steam heat ed. Also they will decide upon the money appr'opriated for the fence. 'Then the money goes Into the hands of the University authorities, who award the con tract. The remainder of the ap-: propriation will be discussed and RECEPTION MONDAY NIGHT BIG SUCCESS Gymnasium Crowded - Over 400 at Student Body Affair. The student body reception and dance given under the aus pices of the Social Cabinet on Monday evening was a decided success. About 400 people were present to enjoy the occasion. Columbia College was present in full force, and the non-attend ance on the part of the girls from the College for Women was made up for by the unusually large number of girls from the city and near by towns. Well gowned, pretty girls, 'de lighted-to-meet-you boys,' gay students, the presence of many of the faculty, and delicious ice cream were the features of the night. After the committee had suc ceeded in making everybody have a jovial good time, the strains of Comstock's Orchestra, broke forth and many of the stu dents joined in the dance which began at ten o'clock and lasted the remainder of the evening. BIG EASTER WEEK AGAIN FOR CAROLINA Biggest Festivities Yet are Being Planned by Comnittee. The students of Carolina will celebrate Easter Week this year from April 5-9, inclusive. Three baseball games will be played, one with Oak Ridge and two with Muhlenberg College of Pennsylvania. Carolina will meet Wofford at track on Wed nesday, April 7. As usual, there will be two dances, the student body dance and the Easter Week German. A reception will be given on one night. It is a mat ter of much regret that the Polka Dot Club will not stage their performance. Last, but by no means lest, the Easter Queen will be crowned on thei campus on one afternoon. An unannounced feature will be held on this particular afternoon. DR. SMITH ATTENDS IMPORTANT MEETING Dr. Reed Smith left today for Madison, Wisconsin, where he attends the National College Ex-' tension Lecture Convention. The University of Wisconsin, the founder of this movement, is en tertaining the delegates. Every one knows the importance of this meeting when he thinks of the greaf number of lectures that our faculty gives all over the State. Dr. Smith is chairman of the miovement at Carolina and' hopes to get many ideas to pre sent to the faculty here.
