LAW MEN MEET. Association Elects Officers for Ensuing Term. At a meeting of the Law As sociation Friday night the fol lowing officers were elected to serve the first term: President, J. D. E. Meyer, Jr.; Vice-Presi dent, J. C. Fort; Clerk, R. R. McLeod; Sheriff, E. P. Passail aigue; Treasurer, W. K. Charles; Secretary, W. A. Hartz; Game cock Editor, J. B. Duffie. After a full discussion it was decided to - hold Moot Court on every Thursday night instead of Wednesday as heretofore. All the members of the association were urged to cooperate with the newly elected officers in their ef forts to make this a banner year. A sug ;e3tion was made that hereafter three attorneys be ap pointed on each side so as to stimulate more interest in the proceedings and at the same time allow a man a greater opportu nity to make more than the re quired number of two appear ances. However, no definite ac tion was taken. Much interest was shown at the meeting and indications point to a successful .and prolitaule year for the asso .ciation. THE TEAM Large Squad Working Hard Every Day. 'ffeia "~Week'T Ti-ridthTTe University's football squad is show ng good form. The united efforts of coaches Edgercon and Costeio are sure to round out a crack team. In spite of what others have said, we believe that the Gamecocks are going to be stronger this year than they have been for a long while. The backfield is showihg up strong. There are at least tweive men out who are striving to get a position behind the line. Among them are Dan Heyward, Langston, Marvin Porter, "Cot ton" Goings, Elzey who played star ciass-bad, and others. Striving to make good in the line are several mcn who have made good in I:ast years. Jerry Porter who played varsity baii two years ago is back with us. Luke iHiil is likely to hold down one end of the line. Pant, Ed munds, Dutch Passalaigne, Rich ards, McMillan, Big Goings, are playing good ball. Feather stone, Geer, Dougherty, Blatt, the managers, are also doing good work. They are doing everything in their power to help the coaches and players make this a successful year.
