COBURN PLAYERS WILL PLAY AT CAROLINA Noted Company Will Play a a Second Time Here. The Coburn Players, who two years ago presented "The Can terbury Pilgrims" here, will pre sent Percy Mackaye's poetic dra ma, "Jeane d'Arc," on the cam pus May 6. These famous play ers are on their anual pilgrimage among the leading clubs and edu cational institutions of the coun try, giving outdoor productions of classic dramas and historic pageants with their original setting. This company holds a reputa tion by no means mediocre. They visit all the large univer sities and colleges throughout the East, South and West, tho tour covering 19 or 20 weeks. Their costumes, it is promised, will not only be accurate in de tails and period, but rich and picturesque in design. The pro duction will be of great educa tional value to the students in general, but especially to the students of literature. The grounds will be brilliantly light ed at night by means of calciums and all the color effect obtained in a theatre are obtained in this fashion. Dr. Wauchope, in speaking of the Coburn players, said, "The Coburn Players are indeed a high classed company. I feel that I am partly responsible for their coming to the Ui'iversity and I hope that many of the students will see their production. Bicycle Club. During the past week John Blackburn, our physical director, made an announcement to the effect that all men who owned or had access to a bicycle to report to him at the gymnasium for forming a bicycle club. He stat ed that some very strenuous and exhaustive excursions would be made to nearby points; as Cam den, Batesburg and Lexington. This club should take well with the fellows who have wheels, as its a source of benefit and pleas ant physical development. Wed nesday afternoon the fellows rode over to Lexington.
