THE TRINITY DEBATE. Contest Staged in College Audi torium at Durham. The University of South Caro lina will meet Trinity College to night in the deciding debate of a series of three, each institution having been previously victor in one debate. The query is: "Re solved, That the United States should be among the first three naval powers of the world." All arrangements for the debate have been satisfactorily made. Carolina's team left yesterday. The judges for the contest are as follows: Harry Howell, super intendent of schools of Asheville, N. C., Frank Nash. a lawyer of Hillsboro, N. C. and W. C. Jack son, president of the Greensboro Normal College. The Trinity team is composed of the following men: G. R. Sex ton, Jr., B. W. Barnard and H. E. Myers. Mr. Sexton is the first freshman to ever make a debat ing team at Trinity and was vic tor in the recent inter-society de bate held there. Mr. Barnard is a junior and is described as one of the best students at Trinity. Mr. Myers is also a junior and is an experienced debater and an honor man of his class. The Trinity team will in the begin ning speak in the following or der: Sexton, Myers and Barnard. Mr. Sexton and Mr. Barnard will change places in the rejoinder. The Carolina team selected in a preliminary held two weeks ago consists of M. A. Wright, J. A. Tolbert and J. S. I)udley. They will speak in the order named in both first speech and rejoinder. The contest will be staged in the auditorium of Trinity College in I )urham. Glee Club Performs in University Chapel (Continued from I'age On) This live wire is the latest out and A-1 in every respect. It is known as the Alan Paul basso profundo, end-string of the varsity glee club wire. The dancing of the Rudisi,l brothers received much applause from those present. They were simply "around here" when it comes to clog dancing. Fostnr Marshall, as the imper sonator of a young lady, Miss Verycute,- was certainzly very cute andl just beautiful. In this guise he delightedl the college girls present as well as the canr - PUS crowdl. Selections rendered by the quartette and1 giec club were up to the standlardl of the best. This concert will be long andl pleasantly remembered by all who heard it. All agree that this is one of the best glee clubs that Carolina hna ever had. PROF. WAUCHOPE AUTHOR OF SONGS His First College Song Still Lives at University of Missouri. Every student on the campus familiar with our own alma ma ter song "A Health Carolina" will be interested to know that this is not the first popular col lege song composed by Prof. Wauchope. In the University Missourian of March 3, is a long article on the composing of "Old Missouri" the anthem of the University of Missouri in 1905 by Prof. Wau chope. The article is accompa nied with a picture of the au thor and a letter written by him recalling the days spent as a pro fessor at the University of Mis souri and the time when he com posed the song. Dr. Wauchope did not know. that his song still lives and is honored as the anthem of the University of Missouri until a copy of the University Missouri an reached him telling him the history of "Old Missouri."
