Two rules regulating the appli
cation for degrees at the Univer
sity stipulate, among othe things,
that "the candidate. . .. must
notify the dean before December
1 preceding the end of the
course. However, a perusal of
the applications presented to
date at the dean's office indicates
that by no means were all of the
applications filed promptly. A
prompt filing of applications by
tardy candidates considerably ex
pedites matters at the dean's
office.
Following is the list to date of
those having filed applications

perplexing to Ilhe dean and the
faculty.
Dr. Geo. Wauchope, dean of
the Department of English, has
just published a syllabus of his
Lectures on Nineteenth Century
Literature. This syllabus was
published by the University
Press. The syllabus will be sold
