in his resignation some time ago.
"Slats" has shown his busi
ness ability and his love of work
in the various managerial jobs
that he has held in the student
body organizations. He' is recog
nized as one of the best business
men in the student body and
should be able to slate a good
schedulefor the Garnet and Black
next season. At an early date he
will make public the schedule
and be able to give some "inside
dope" on the coming season.

be called upon to help Carolina

on some of our men we would

man worked hard and deserves
much praise for their admirable
showing so early in the season,
and we predict a most successful
season for our team. We are
sorry, Danner was laid up' with a
bad hand, and Chapman and
and Stoney were not well (who
said so?) While Poole and Stoney
showed their old time form, it is
safe to say Brooker, Farrell, and
Chapman will be 'heard from
Of course we know what to ex
pect from Charleston--Hanahan
and Reeves were on the job and
all over. the floor like a panther,
and we wish'we had more repre.,
sentatives from Charleston "like
unto them."
E. Waring and McMillan also
showed up well,;and, should be
counted on for muehhep during
the season. Both are' t41l, "angy
fellows and willig to 'go after
'em. For Newberry the whole
bunch did Well and much credit
is due the young m'en for fight
ing as they did aainst odds dur
