GAMECOCKS BATTLE
ALUGATOR CREW
Carolina and Florida Mix it
Up Today.
Gaine Will be Hard Fought and
Interesting--Florida Held
Tech to 13-3 Score.
This afternoon at 3:30 on Davis
Field the Carolina Gamecocks
will lock horns with the Florida
Alligators. The officials are, Fos
ter, Holland and Thrasher.
The contest this afternoon will
be one of the tightest- of the sea
son. Coach Edgertoh has put his
squad through a hard workout
this week, during which several
changes have been made. The
team has shown noticeable im
provement since the Clemson
game. Most probably today's
game will see some new faces in
the backfield.' The whole squad
is going good and all the men
Brann will be probably be seen
at quarter, where he has been
showing up well in the recent
scrimmages. Dan Heyward is
back with his usual pep and
lightning speed. The invincible
Boulware will be seen in the
backfield with the same goods
that he showed in the Clemson
game. Richards has been going
good in the late scrimmages and
may be seen in today's game.
Going is playing his position in
the line like a veteran.
The Florida team has shown up
well in every battle this season.
Tech only beat them by a score
of 13-3. They will give Carolina
a hard and interesting fight.
. It will be remembered that
Florida beat us on a fluke last
year by the narrow margin of
10-6. Every Gamecock goes into
the game this afternoon with
the determination to win. This is
the next to. last varsity game to
be played on the home grounds
this season.
Dr. Morse Will Speak.
Beginning Wednesday Nov.
12 Dr. Josiah Morse will' deliver
at the regular Y. M. C. A. meet
ings a series of six lectures
upon "Social Service". Those
who attend the Y. M. C. A. for
the next few meetings will have
the pleasure of hearing an intest
ing man discuss an -Interesting
subjet.
