LAW BUILDING FUND
ATTRACTING NOTICE
P. H. Nelson, ex-President of Bar
Association of South Carolina,
Spoke of it in Annual Address.
The law building committee,
though handicapped by the stress of
the examination period, have re
cently accomplished two worthy
moves. These are the enthusiastic
indorsement of the.alumni .of the
University on Fouiders' Day, and
the approval by te Bar Association
of South Carolina at its annual
meeting.
The Alumni Association put in
the hands of the executive commit
tee the matter of assisting the law
building committee in its canvass by
a committee of alumni.
The Bar Association, on motion
of Mr. Legare Walker, decided that
. the chair should appoint a commit
ch tee of three to aid in every way )os
sible the movement. Particularly
inspiring to the law students was the
fact that the president, Mr. P. 1-.
Nelson, dealt in his annual address
with the development of the Univer
sity law school, and referred in
terms of compliment to the efforts
of Carolina law students.
Law Association Elects Officers
On \Vednesday night the Law
Association elected officers for the
ensuing term. The result was:
President, E. P. Guerard; vice-pres
ident, M. M. Johnsdn; clerk of
court, Cordie Page; sheriff, J. B.
Murphy; secretary-treasurer, R. S.
Owens; law editor for TiE GAME

These gentlemen will take their
oaths at once an( enter uipon their
respective duties. It is hoped by
the members of the Law Associa
tion that, since examinations are
now over, much work will be accom
Plished through the medium of the
Moot Court.

Popular Carolina Man Made the
Wednesday Night Address at
Flinn Hall.
\Vednesday night T. S. IVIcMillan,
of the junioir law and senior aca
demic classes, addrcssed the Y. M.
C. A. upon the subject, "A fter Col
lege, \Vhat?" in beginning Mr.
McMillai described college life as a
period of transition from youth to
manhood. Then he spoke of the
necessity of choosing well a life
work and of one's duty to serve God
and his fellow-man. In conclusion,
the speaker vividly described the
reward old age held out to those
who had spent their life in service.
MI. McMillan's address was short
and to the point and made a splendid
implression upon all present.
The Y. M. C. A. is to be con
gratulated uipon having in its midst
such men as Mr. McMillan who can
addlress them upon the problems of
life.
Y. M. C. A. to Send Delegates to
Convention in Charleston.
At the mid-week meeting of the
University Y. M. C. A. it was de
cided to send two delegates to the
ninth annual convention of the Car
olina Y. M. C. A.'s to be held in
Charleston February 13th and 14th
in conjunction with the campaign
of the Men and Religion Forward
Mlovement, which will be conducted
)y a team of six of the leading ex
perts in religious work in the United
States. Davenport and T. McMil
lan were chosen as delegates.
