Cashier CAMPUSGRAMS Mr. Steinbach, a student in the Law Department, left for Washing ton, D. C., last Friday, having been transferred to the Postofice Depart ment of the Government. It is with regret that we lose Mr. Steinbach, as he was a very popular student, etc. He will continue his studies at Georgetown University. Mr. Richie, Mr. Heffron and Mr. Heustess also failed to return after the holidays. Mr. Craig, Mr. Sher vood are ncw students. Wm. Leroy Brohun, much to our regret, has withdrawn from college. As a member of the present staff lie shows that lie is still interested in the Bird by asking that it be sent him. The civic club had its first meet ing since the holidays last Thursday night with a good attendance, con sidering the weatler. The club was addressed by .M. M. Johnson, who spoke on presidential possibilities. Next meeting, "etc.," two weeks hence; good programme is prepared. Mr. Hudson addressed the stu dents at chapel exercises on the pres ent Revolution in China. Very in teresting, as he was a missionary for 17 years there. New Staff Is Elected At a joint assembly meeting last Saturday night TiE GAMECOCK and Carolinian editors were elected for the second term. TiE GAMECOCK staff are: Sam Latimer, Jr., editor in-chief ; Murphy, Robins, Hoffman, Brohun, M. S., Shuler and Cross land. The Carolinian editors are: D. C. Hey ward, editor-in-chief ; Wright, Foster and Farris. With these two efficient staffs it's safe to say that the two publications of the University will reach a stand ard higher than ever before. Most of them have had some newspaper work and all will prove earnest and willing workers. Mr. Purdy-That tree that was blown down in front of Prof. Rucker's home came from the tomb of Virgil.
