WILSON MOVEMENT WAS INAUGURATED (Continued fron Page One) responding secretary; Mr. F. Wil liam Cappelmann, treasurer. The work of the organization is under the direct supervision of the advis ory board: Messrs. William H. Scott, chafirman; D. H. Ramsey, H. M. McManaway, L. K. Jen nings and Alan Johnstone, Jr. This advisory board will later be merged into a larger executive com mittee, to include the presidents of the clubs in those leading institu tions in each State which take most readily to the movement. Carolina had the idea of the movement, as it is now being put into operation throughout the coun try, and Virginia was planning for such a league in the Old Dominion. When the latter was advised of the larger scheme she readily acceded to becoming co-partner in the work. The two institutions constitute the league headquarters. Wilson Men Approve. Owing to the absence of Governor Wilson on a vacation, the communi cations in regard to the league sent him from headquarters could not be brought to his notice. Mr. Walter Measday, assistant secretary to the governor, writes: "Permit me per sonally to say that the movement you are inaugurating would seem to possess5 possibilities of great good for Governor Wilson's candidacy. I am quite sure that if lie were here he would direct me to send you his most sincere thanks." Constitution. The constitution follows: "Art. I. The name of this organi zation shall be: 'The Woodrow Wil son League of College Men.' "Art. II. The object of this organization shall be to unite college men in promoting the candidacy of Woodrow Wilson for the presidency of the United States. "Art. III. The officers of the league sall cnsist of a pres:ent a vice-president, a second vice-pres ident, a corresponding secretary, a recording secretary, and a treasurer, whose duties shall be such as com monly attach to such offices in or ganizations similar. "Art. IV. 'lie league, in further ance of its design, shall (i) conduct correspondence, (2) solicit the sup port of the college press, (3) submit articles for publication in the Dem ocratic organs of the country, (4) sinterview delegates to the Demo cratic conventions, (5) seek and follow instructions from the Wilson bureau, and (6) by all these means endeavor to get college men squarely behind the college iman's candidate." Big Meeting Wednesday Night. Mayor Gibbes made a Wilson speech to the student body and made the first outside contribution to the cause. Mr. J. J. McMahan and Profs. Snowden, Chamberlayne, Morse and T. K. Vassey and Alan Johnstone, from the student body, delivered addresses. One hundred and fifteen students joined the club and the movement is expected to include every name on the college roll. The officers of the Woodrow Wil son Club at the University are: W. H. Scott, president; T. K. Vassey, vice-president; Brodus Mitchell, re cording secretary; J. D. Branden burg, secretary; W. M. Cappelmann, treasurer.
