In Vain the Teams Clash.
(Continued fiot Page One.)
iors Monckton, at. right end, played
a beautiful game, as also did Bradley,
Wright, Smith and Hydrick in the
backfield.
The attendance was very good, but
was not what was expected.

F,resh-Soph Game.
Like the juniors and seniors, the
two lower classes were unable to
decide the tie of their last game'.
Both teams played well, and threat
ened to score, but every time some
thing happened. Twice the fresh
men tried for goal and kicked, but
they counted for nothing. The first
time the game had been stopped to
clear the field, and the secotid time
they were offside. The sophs had
the ball o the freshmen's 3-yard
line, and it looked an easy matter to
take it over for a touchdown, but
the ball was fumbled and recovered
by the freshmen.
C.X The game was spectacular at
6 times, but at others rather slow.
vi Both teams put up a clean fight.
?-N For the freshmen, Dick, Moise and
.0 Brohun starred. For the sophs,
White, Hill, Green and Wilkes were
cj the stellar ones.
, This game, the fourth of the class
series, leaves things as they were be
fore the season started, and all
parties concerned seem to be willing
to let things stand as they are. It
would be a very good idea to have
the letters of all the classes engraved
on the cup this year, for it may be
interesting in later years to know
that all the games were draws.

club must have more members, else
a great many of the county papers
will be without representation at
Carolina.
It is the desire of the club to
enroll every student as a member,
who is willing to devote a small
fraction of his time to writing a
newsy letter to his home paper once
a week or once in two weeks, as
he may find convenient. Dr. Green
promises to be present at every
meeting to give the correspondents
any items of news he has (and he
always has them), and to give ad
vice as to the handling of the ia
terial. The time of meeting has been
set for the present at 2:45 p. m.
each Friday, and it is hoped that
every student, not a member, who
has a (desire to fulfill the object of
the club, will apply for membership
at once.

Committee Reports Success.
The committee who has in charge
the collection of sufficient funds for
the payment of the 1908 Annual
debt, upon being interviewed this
morning, gave us the following for
publica-tion.
"When 'we first took this job it
looked like an impossibility to get
the money for the purpose of paying
off the debt, but now 'we .have a
scheme by which every man in
school will be able -to help us, and
at the same 'time, never feel it him
self, namely: to get all the men to
sign cards to the effect that they will
pay the treasurer of the University
their part, along wit,h their regular
second term fees. We have only
seen about sixty of the students so
far. and with only one or two ex
ceptions, they have all willingly
helped us. The alumni are rather
slow, but we have already heard
favorably from a good number. We
hope .to finish the work by Christ
mas."
