Mace began his football career in
his Sophomore year at Carolina,
playing halfback and end on the
scrub tean. He was a substitute in
the game with the Georgia Medical
College last year. He is playing
good ball this year as right end on
the Varsity eleven, and will probably
play in the game with Clemson
Fair Week.
McNair played end on the Fish
burne team 1907-08, before coming
to Carolina. He was a "sub" on
Carolina Varsity team 19o8-o9. He
is playing left halfback on tlh Var
sity team this year, and has taken
part in all games of this season.
Tom Stoney played good ball as
end on Porte--s Mili-tary Academy
team in 1907. After coming to Caro
lina he played "sub" on the Varsity
squad during 1909, playing quarter
back in the game with Davidson.
Tom is light in weight, but hasn't
let that interfere with his playing
quarterback on the Varsity in every
game this year.
Wyche played football every sea
son since his Freshman year at Car
olina. His record is as follows:
Center, "Fresh" class team, 1907;
center, Sophomore class team, 1908;
right halfback and fullback, Junior
class team, 1909; fullback in the
gaic between Charleston College
and Carolina; left halfback in the
game with the Georgia Medical Col

lege, and also in the game with
Wake Forest tihis year.
Blackburn was cap)tain of the
Freshman class 'team at Caro.ina,
and played quarterback in 1907.
Played end on "scrubs" same year.
He played end on the Varsity team
last year, and hopes 'to take p)art in
the Fair Week ganme ,wvith Clemson.

tion. -ec played fullback on towvn
'teams here in Columbia b)efore com
ing to Carolina, and has played ever
since, HIe hopes to help in the

During 1908, Girardeau began his
football education on the Columbia
High School team. He played with
the "scrubs" and on the Freshman
class team as fullback during 1909.

Sligh is a veteran of last year,
and won his reputation in the Clem
son game of that time. This year
we look upon him as a sort of anchor
of hope for we know lie can be (e
