ON THE CAMPUS. Mr. Tom Stoney spent several days this week at his home in Pinopolis. . Messrs. A. D. Oliphant, Robert Seibels and C. T. Graydon went to Newberry Wednesday to attend the sessions of the College Press Associa tion now holding its annual meeting in thz c:ty. Mr. Bill Graydon returned with the team on Tuesday, having accompanied them throughout the trip in North Carolina and Virginia. Mr. Beatty White is in town for several weeks, during the sessions of the Supreme Court, and while here is occupying his old quarters oil the cam pus. Mr. White is private secretary to Judge Woods, and has spent the winter in Marion. Mr. Dozier Lee, '07, of Sumter, spent a few days with friends on the campus this week. Mr. Robert Todd, of Charleston. visited friends on the campus during the week. Mr. C. T. Graydon stopped over in Charlotte to visit friends on his way home from Virginia, arriving at the University Wednesday. A number of men on the Charleston College team paid the campus a visit ej on their way back to Charleston and c' were welcomed by their many friends. Mr. W. C. McGowan spent part of the past week in Greenville with friends. Mr. John Lee is spending the week end at his home in Sumter. Mr. Henry Bouclier, '08, of Spar tanburg, was in town for several (lays last week, coming down for the col lege reception Friday night and other festivities of the week. I a BIRD Tm:i EXPLANATION. "H-owv is it that widows genlerally marry again ?" "Because (lead men tell no tales." Argnnant. Mr. Kid McNair spent several days at the Infirmary this week. Dr. Mitchell made an address in Marion Friday evening, April 15th, up1)on the anniversary of the establish ment of the free library in that town. His speech had as its subject what men and women can do when they co operate for the higher things of life and was listened to by a large and ap preciative audience. The Marion correspondent of The State had a de tailed account of Dr. Mitchell's speech in Monday morning's paper, and re viewed the address in a most flattering manner. Dr. Mitchell went to St. Matthew's on Friday, returning to the University that night. Gridiron Fun.
