Y. M. C. A. Directors Meet. The Board of Directors of the Y. M. C. A. building held a meeting in Governor Ansel's office Ma cih 219th. All the members were present, except Dr. Iain, who was unable to he pre eit on account of sickness. The advisability of getting a student secretary was discusssed, and a com mittee, consisting of Alessr-. Blenet, Wright and Belser, was appoi.ited to look into this matter. Dr. Mitchell. Dr. Bain. .\r. Coats, and Mr. Bienet were appointed as a committee to have the building fur nished. As the Flinn I lall is to be Ife c<l.er of all college activities, a commit!ee, composed of Messrs. Belser, Coats anl \Vright was appointed to ex(end ivi tatiois to all the different department of the college, asking them to make this building their headckuarters. Dr. Poster, the secretary of the Mills association, spoke to the '. M. C. A. last Sunday on the necessit\ of taking care of our bodies. He said it was almost impos-sible to over-emplha size the importance of a sound body. It is the first thing that should de mand our attention, for everything else depeids upon the body and the1 condition it is in. Mloral, mental and religious efficiency are impossiblc in an undeveloped or shattered body. It is the unifying organism, and can iiot be separated from the mind and soul. Therefore, a person who ruins his health inl getting an education !'as worse thanl wasted his time. WC are all born with a more or less per feet body, and each individual is responsi ble for what he makes of his body. Yet, how ignorant we are of the laws which govern our physical being, and what a very small portion of our time is spent in studyiiig or trying to f:nd out, what our bodies really iieed. Regular and persistent exercise is as necessary as food. This physica! as pect ot education is sadly neglected: but it is being stressed more and more, and it is to be hoped that it wi: soon have its right ful place in all our edlica tional work. Tuberculosis is Curable and Will Be Conquered. Tuberculosis is a preventable dis ease and must be prevented. A hund;ed years ago the most for idable disease on the face of the earth was smallpox. That has been almost wiped out of existence. Twenty-five years ago yellow fever hung like a p)all ovier every Southern home. That has gone with smallplOX. Stealind on the Campus. Within the last few days thieves have been very active on the campus. Monday evening three suits of clothes, two extra pair of trousers, and two hats were stolei from No. 3 and No. 41, E1ast DeSaussure. Wednesday eve ning, while everybody on the campus was at supper, soie rogue enitercd No. 1 1) Pinckney and -carried away three more suits of clothes, along with a few other articles. The city police were promptly notified in both cases, but no arrests have resulted. Ilesides these two instances of theft numeirous articles have been stolen froi students recently, such as matches, money, etc. In view of such constant stealing, it would be a, good idea for students to keep their rooms locked, and also to use what detective skill they have to discover the guilty )arties.
