ON THE CAMPUS.
Dr. W. B. Burney went up to Bat's
Cave, N. C., last Saturday to see about
his apple orchard, etc., on his farm
near there.
Dr. Gordon B. Moore also paid a
visit to his summer home at -Edny
ville, N. C. Dr. Moore has a large
farm there, and it was in this interest
that lie spent the first part of the week
there.
Prof. F. Horton Colcock attended
the convention of the American Insti
tute of Electrical Engineers held at
Charlotte, Wednesday and Thursday
of this week.
Dr. Mitchell is in Sumter today at
tending a public health conference
held there today. He is to speak to
night at the Baptist church in Sumter.
Mr. E. Marion Rucker, recently
elected professor in the Law Depart
ment, spoke to the students in chapel
for a few minutes on Thursday morn

Mr. Janson, manager of the "Two
Old Confederates," Mr. Polk Miller's
play, paid the campus a visit on Thurs
16 day. The students enjoyed a rare
treat in a short talk by Mr. Janson
upon Swedish Life, at chapel service
Thursday morning.
Mr. James 0. Sheppard suffered a

and broke his wrist.
Mr. A. G. Hart spent several days
the past week at his home in Laurens.

Mr. D. Edward Finley, Jr., left last
Saturday for Washington to spend a
week with his parents, Congressman
and Mrs. Finley. Mr. Finley has at
tenled a iiumber of the Easter social
affairs in the capital city. The bur
den of getting out TiE GAMECOCK,
of which Mr. Finley is Editor-in
Chief, has fallen on Mr. S. S. Wil
liams, the Associate Editor.
A number of the students spent
Easter Sunday at home, among whom
were Mr. R. M. Cooper, Jr., Mr. Hal
cott Poag, Mr. Robert Laird, Mr.
Lawrence Kirkland and Mr. Randolph
Murdaugh.
As spring comes on we all have a
lazy feeling to come upon us, and it
was in the hope of getting rid of this
feeling that several of the students
spent last Sati day and Sunday in the
Infirmary. Those were, Messrs.
Randolph Murdaugh, Robert Laird,
Philip McNair, Charles Ashley, James
1-ammond, Benjam in Rainsford,
