At Other Colledes.
Yale's latest gift is a* $425,000
physics laboratory. Two smaller
gifts were lately received by the New
England college, one of $25,000 for
greneral endowment, and the other
S15,000 for a Vorest School.-/'.r.
On Tuesday, 'March 22d, the new
administration building of the Coker
College for Women, at I Hartsville, was
dedicatedN with impressive Masonic
ceremonies. The building is the gift
of Maj. J. L. Coker, and cost $25,000.
At the same' time Major Coker make a
gift to the college of an endowment
fund of $150,000, the largest sum ever
given by one person in the state to the
cause of educatiou.
Registration at the University of
Virginia has reached the eight huti
dred mark.
The eidowment fund of Sewanee
is to be increased by a gift of fifty
thousand dollars fron J. P)ierpont
Morgan.

The Infirmary at the University of
the South has recently received an
endowment of fifteen thousand dol
lars, in addition to three thousand al
ready on hand.
A new literary club has been organ
ized at the University of Georgia,
which has for its object the study of
topics relating to literature, along
lines that are not taken up in class.
At each meeting of the club some
member of the faculty or distinguished
literary man addresses the men upon
the subject for discussion.
Another literary club at Georgia is
the Gridiron Club, modeled on the
famous club of that name at Washing
toil.
