ON THE CAMPUS. Prof. F. Horton Colcock delivered a lecture on Astronomy in Winnsboro last Friday night. Mr. Henry T. Bouchier, '08, paid the campus a visit while in the city last week. Mr. Halcott Poag went over to Bennettsville last Saturday, where he played in a concert given for the bene fit of one of the churches in that city. Mr. Robert M. Cooper, Jr., spent last Saturday and Sunday at his home in Wisacky. Mr. V. A. Parrott accompanied Mr. Cooper home last Saturday, and also spent a few hours at his home in Sum ter. Mr. Henry V. Hughes, of Trenton, passed through the city last Monday on his way North. Mr. Hughes in tends stopping at Washington and from there he will visit other North ern cities. Mr. Pringle Smith sDetit -the week end at his home in Chai-leston. Mr. Lawrence Kirkland enjoyed spending last Sunday at his home in Camden. Broke Even With Mechanics. Up to that time the score stood 6 to 2, in favor of the University, and Coach Breitenstein kept substituting new men until a practically different team was in the game. Reilly, who replaced Harper, pitched well until the ninth, when he issued four passes in succession. Wyche then relieved him, but a succession of inexcusable infield errors were sufficient to hand the Me chanics five runs and -the game. The game itsel'f was a long-drawn out, tedious affair. The Mechanics dlid no hitting whatever, only two singles be ing accumulated by them during the nine sessions. Hiamsley played well at short for them. Turner pitched consistent ball. For Carolina, Belser and McMillan led the hitting, the for mer getting a single and double, and the latter a single and triple. The University pulled off no fielding fea tures.
