C., OCTOBER 23, 1908 The football team returned Sunday afternoon from Athens, where they were defeated by the University of Georgia, and there were only about a dozen fellows at the station to wel come them home. This is college spirit, isn't it? Don't let this happen again, boys. The next time the team comes back fron a trip, win or lose, let's go to the depot in a body and show our appreciation for the fight they have put up for CAROLINA. ONE OF THE OBLIGATIONS WE OWE TO THE UNIVERSITY Next week will be fair week, and there will be thousands of visitors from all parts of the State in Colum bia. Naturally the University of South Carolina will be one of the points of interest. In the words of Governor Ansel, "South Carolina is looking at )ol today." Let every stu dent remember when the people look at him that they are looking at him as a representative of the University of South Carolina. Now, there are times when every one is apt to forget him self, but we should be ever mindful of the fact that we are for CAROLINA, and do all in our power to make the best impression possible. Malloy, '04, is in the mercan tile business in Cheraw. T. M. Lyles, '06, has made Spartan burg his home, and is there engaged in the practice of law. P. M. Macmillan, Law 'o6, is *a member of the Charleston bar. E. C. Mann, Law 'o6, is lracticing law in Darlington. 13. F. Wyman, Law '06, is an active member of the Aiken bar. J. T. Gettys, Law 'o6, is a member of the firm so long known as Nelson & Nelson, of Colimbia. J. A. Wheeler, 'o6, is a partner in the Marion Wholesale Grocery Com pany, one of the leading wholesale houses of that section of the State. S. H. Wilds, 'o6. is engaged in farming in Darlington County. 0. E. Thomas, '06, is in the cm ployment of the General Electric Co. of Schenectady, N. Y. J. H. Rogers, 'o6, is teaching at his home, Society Hill, S. C. E. B. Andrews, 'o6, is preparing for the ministry at the University of the South. S. R. Lucas, 'o6, has returned to Charleston Medical College. D. B. Anderson, '06, of Edgefield, is farming in Spartanburg County, near Converse. John Rainsford, 'o7, is fatming itf Edgefield County. W. B. Marion, 'o6, is teaching in the Chester High School. Eugene H. Blake, '07, is principal of the McClellanvillc Graded School. D. A. Carmichael, '07, is an en gineering student of Cornell Univer sity. Vernie Cook, '07, is assistant to Professor Banks in the Hyatt Park Preparatory School. T. IV. DuBose, '07, has returned to the South Carolina Medical College. N. B. Heyward, '07, is a medical student at the College of Physicians and Surgeons, New York. Allen Jones, '07, last year of Massa chusetts Tech., is now a "technic" of Clemson College. R. D. Lee, '07, has returned to the Law School of the Uiniversity of Vir ginia. J. H. Gibbes, 'o8, has entered the Medical School of John Hopkins Uni versity, Baltimore. J. E. McDonald, Law 'o8, is a mem ber of the firm of McDonald & Son, of Winnsboro. J. B. Davis, 'o8, has a position in the "Bank of Winnsboro" in his home town. E. H. Henderson, Law 'o8, is P-ac ticing his profession at Barnwell, and is also a member, of the firm of Hen derson & Son, of Aiken. J. M. -lemphill, 'o8, is reading law in the office of his father in Chester. R. K. Foster, '05, receives his M. D. at the South Carolina Medical College next June.
