A RF.FL Y TO MR. SELL A .VH Y.
Messrs Editors: I notice in your
paper of February 17 a reply from our
learned County Commissioner to me, (
so hope you will allow me space to
reply to him. Mr. Dellancy, you :
seem to think I am quite ignorant as j
to -whom the Board elected attorney. ,
I know they did elect 0. W. Buchanan, ]
and I think him gentleman enough to 1
acknowledge he was a strong advocate ]
of Tillman. As to what I know about I
the poor house you have acknowledged ]
to tne same, as to corn you louua | i
January, 1891, you say there were j
five hundred bushels, seventy-five of j
that being made by Cameron. This is t
not correct. How could there be five J
hundred bushels, when voti already in *
your first statement said Deity, only i
made three hundred and thirty. I t
like to get some of that corn i
for seetk^hich grows after cribbing.
How can V'-Stf he right each timp^wfegfk^
you sty one~~"tiling one time and {
another the next time. Can you tell i
why Jones took mules and hands to t
the field for three days lout only
plowed one mule one day? As for
the sow and pigs you say, "we"
permitted Jones to bring there to raise J
on shares. Whom do you mean by J
we? As the Board did not give him '
permission, they went all the same and ]
all except two disappeared some way. '
You must have thought the "razor *
backsr? a good breed judging- from the ?
way you were trying to raise razor- '
backs. You had in January, -'92,
twelve or fifteen sows two years old
or over and nine boars from two years
old and down and but one so-called
improved Berkshire boar, for it is not
avi improved Berkshire. 2s ow how
can you improve the razor backs when
this is the case, for I have been there
and did the work on these same hogs.
Yes, I did say Deitz left twelve hundred
pounds of meat, but did net say
what amount you found there any
time after. The razor back must
have eaten that immense quantity of
greens which were there (and I can
prove it), for thev do not loek like the
same hogs they did in 1890.
It maty seem strange to you that all
the censure (you say) that is heaped
upon Jones comes from this quarter
the County. You would never
have heard a word from me conccrni?g
Jones had you given facts as they 3
were about Deitz in your first reply, t
As for me trying to make a hallelujah r
shout I did not try or I would have t
told about the feeding of the hogs, s
plowing the mules, tending the wagon, j f
renting the house, selling the eggs, as S <
i know he must have sold one hundred j ^
dozen to one man, not putting the
hogs up to fatten last fall when told,
taking ofl' one of the paupers, etc., for ,,
which you are more to blame than c
Jones.
No wonder you did not wish the Board
to give the facts as they were when they t
wanted to do so, in reply to Keforia. 1
Sow is this reur lieform? What J
think yon ?f Straightouts now?
Yours, &c., t
