The record of another long and use
ful life has closed, and an army of
friends and relatives 'are left behind to
VAourft the loss of a venerable and
loved one.
The subject of this sketch was the
dmghter of Gen. John BuchaYfanr, and
was born on the 21st day of August,
1793, near Gladney’s Ford, oh Little
River, in this county. She YcfmoYed
with her father to Wiuusboro in De-
eember, 1805, where he was for a
number of years proprietor of a hotel.
She was united in marriage WJuly of
1816 to Mr. Jofin McMaster, of this
place. For a number of years after
their union the husband merchandised
in town with considerable success, aud
in 1820 took charge Of the hotel of
Which his fatherein-law had been own-
and proprietor, and remained in that
business continuously until the day of
his death, in September, 1864'. Mr.
McMaster Was for forty years post
master at this place.
After the'deAth of her husband, Mrs.
McMaster continued to live in the old
hotel building the remaining portion
of her life, where she died at 11,80
