The Crops Elsewhere.—The York-
ville jtnqvlrer, speaking 'of the crop
prospects in that county, says:
: The cotton plant was not generally in
jured ,ln this section by the frost and cold
weather ,of last week, though in some lo-
caljtift} the Injury was so severe to the crop
that the fields were ploughed up and Re
planted .with com. This condition, 4ioi(v-

Other vegetation, suffered but little ffom
the frost.. The cotton plant is weak and
at this time unpromislngf owing to the late
cool, weather and of seasonable rain,
from which lettsr cause the com crop is
equally unpromising. Fanners tell ns that
their land in cotton most heavily fertilised
does not now promise as well as other fields
with which they took le^ fl^jre. ,With
timely rains and wanner weather, how
ever, the crop wnulg^et improve consider
ably. As compared with last year the
wheat crop will be short The oats crop is
reported good by a number of farmers and
with some of them harvesting has already
commenced.
